AUTUMN 2009 NEWS UPDATE
Cool brisk nights and gorgeous days remind me that autumn is, once again, here! I am excited about our new kits, yarns, patterns and books for fall and the Holidays. I have added many new yarns in wool and blends like Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed Chunky which is a blend of Angora and Donegal Tweed from Kilcar, Ireland. We’ve also added some very nice bamboo blends including Merino Blend from Reynolds “Great American“ line – all made in the USA. We have the largest selection of Blue Sky Alpaca yarns in NH and have recently added the “Spud and Chloe” line with Outer Yarn, a washable bulky blend that is great for quick hats! We have and incredible array of sock yarns. We recently added Mini Mochi, Santa Fe and Alyeska as well as limited edition yarns from Opal.
We have a couple of KITS now available, and both are Yarn Basket exclusives. “Laurie’s Big City Scarf” kit has enough Mountain Colors Mohair and matching hand dyed Boucle fringe (pre-cut for you) to make a large scarf. The boucle is hand dyed to match the mohair! For just $37.50 the kit has a pattern included and “fulling” directions – all you need are needles. This scarf makes a gorgeous gift! Speaking of gorgeous gift ideas, for the intermediate knitter try the “Beaded Cabled Wrister” kit. This kit is just $25 and includes enough Pashmina (merino and cashmere blend), beads and instructions to make an elegant and lusciously soft pair of wristers. Why wristers? How else can I text!
Hot new book titles include “Swing, Swagger and Drape“, “Sock Innovation“, “Knitted Gifts “, “Japanese Inspired Knits“ and “Classic Knits“.
